Commercial Solar Grants
SEAI Non‑Domestic Microgen Grant
SEAI offers up to €162,600 towards solar PV installations sized from 1 kWp to 1,000 kWp
Grant levels based on system size
- 0–2 kWp ➝ €900/kWp
- 7–20 kWp ➝ €300/kWp
- 21–200 kWp ➝ €200/kWp
- 201–1,000 kWp ➝ €150/kWp
Open to a wide range of entities: businesses, farms, schools, community centres, non-profits, public bodies. Applications are submitted online before installing—your installer must be on the SEAI registered list

SEAI Solar PV Grant (Residential)
Who’s Eligible
- Homeowners and private landlords
- Homes built and occupied before 31 Dec 2020
- No prior solar PV grant on that MPRN
- Apply before installation starts
Grant Amounts (up to 4 kWp systems)
- €700 per kWp for the first 2 kWp → up to €1,400
- €200 per kWp for the next 2 kWp → up to €400
- Maximum total: €1,800
Grant must be approved before work begins, installation must be completed within 8 months, a post-installation BER (Building Energy Rating) is required for final payment and 0% VAT applies to solar PV installations as of May 2023. To find out more click the button below.
Agri-Solar Grants
TAMS 3 Solar Capital Investment Scheme
Administered through the Department of Agriculture’s Targeted Agricultural Modernisation Scheme (TAMS)
Grants 60% of investment, up to €90,000 per farm
Eligible installations up to 62 kW rooftop or ground-mounted PV, plus battery storage (max 50% of solar capacity)
Ideal for dairy, beef, tillage (60%), pig/poultry sectors (40%), requiring SEAI & Department‑approved installer
SEAI Non-Domestic Microgen Grant
For solar PV systems from 1 kWp to 1 MWp on farms, businesses, schools, community buildings
- 1–6 kWp: €900–€2,400 per system
- 7–20 kWp: €300/kWp
- 21–200 kWp: €200/kWp
- 201–1,000 kWp: €150/kWp
Maximum grant: €162,600, Application via SEAI—system installation by a SEAI-registered supplier required
