The panel is the starting point of any solar installation. It determines how much energy the system is capable of generating. Bauer Solar’s glass-glass panels are designed to maintain consistent output over a long period, with lower degradation compared to standard glass-foil panels. This matters over the lifetime of a system, where small differences in annual degradation add up to a meaningful difference in total output over 20 to 30 years.

On a typical Irish roof, panel output is affected by orientation, shading and weather. The bifacial design provides some additional yield where light is reflected onto the rear of the panel. This is most relevant on lighter-coloured roof surfaces or ground-mounted systems. Panels are paired with an inverter, and optionally a battery, to convert and manage the energy they generate.
