We use Fronius products because their inverters are well-established in the Irish market and integrate cleanly with battery storage and monitoring tools. The GEN24 range supports hybrid operation, meaning it can handle solar input, battery storage and grid connection from a single unit. Fronius systems are also built with future-proofing in mind – a battery connection can be added later via a software upgrade if the storage is not included at installation. Their Solar.web monitoring platform gives homeowners clear, accessible data on how their system is performing.

A Fronius-based system connects the main components of a solar installation – panels, inverter, battery and grid connection – through a single managed point. The inverter converts DC power from the panels into usable AC electricity, manages charging and discharging of the battery, and handles the switch to backup mode if the grid goes down. All components feed data into the Solar.web monitoring platform, giving a real-time and historical view of system performance. The GEN24 inverters also support future upgrades, so additional storage or controls can be added without replacing the inverter. Fronius also make the Wattpilot home EV charger, which integrates directly with the GEN24 and Solar.web, allowing the car to charge from surplus solar rather than drawing from the grid.
